    Anteroposterior Lumbar View

X-Ray Lumbar Spine AP view is an anteroposterior radiographic image of the lumbar spine taken from front to back. It shows lumbar vertebrae L1 to L5, intervertebral disc spaces, transverse processes, spinous processes, and alignment of the spine. This view is used to detect fractures, scoliosis, tumors, infections, and degenerative changes.

    Includes 4 Test Parameters

  • Technique

Anteroposterior radiographic imaging of the lower back (L1-L5).

  • Purpose

To screen for scoliosis, fractures, and alignment abnormalities in the lower spine.

  • Area Covered

The lumbar vertebrae and sacroiliac joints.

  • Key Clinical Point

The primary view used for initial assessment of chronic low back pain.

  • Includes Test 5 Parameters

The lumbar spine refers to the lower back, consisting of five large vertebrae (L1-L5) that support your body weight.

It is used to find fractures, tumors, scoliosis, and structural issues in the lower back bones.

Lower back pain is a very frequent complaint, and this X-ray is the fastest way to check for bone-related causes.

These are small bony projections on the sides of your vertebrae where muscles and ligaments attach.

Sometimes kidney stones are visible on a lumbar X-ray because of their calcium content and location.
