Mid-Back Flexion View
X-Ray Dorsal Spine Flexion View is a specialized imaging test used to examine the dorsal (thoracic) spine while the patient bends forward (flexion position). This view helps doctors evaluate the movement, alignment, and stability of the thoracic vertebrae during motion. It is commonly recommended for patients with back pain, suspected ligament injury, spinal instability, trauma, or degenerative spine conditions. The flexion view is often performed along with the extension view to compare spinal movement. The procedure is quick, painless, and usually completed within a few minutes.
Includes 4 Test Parameters
Specialized lateral X-ray taken while the patient bends the upper back forward.
To evaluate vertebral alignment and potential instability during forward motion.
The dorsal (thoracic) spine during flexion.
Comparison with the extension view helps diagnose ligamentous laxity.
