X-Ray Dorsal Spine Extension View is a specialized X-ray imaging test used to examine the dorsal (thoracic) spine while the patient bends backward (extension position). This view helps doctors evaluate spinal movement, alignment, and stability of the thoracic vertebrae during motion. It is commonly recommended in cases of back pain, spinal injury, suspected ligament injury, spinal instability, or degenerative spine conditions. The extension view may be performed along with the flexion view to assess spinal mobility. The procedure is quick, painless, and usually completed within a few minutes.
